From My Table- French Bread Pizza

I know I just posted a pizza recipe. But this is WAY different and super easy. I had to share.

When I was at Meijer the other day I spotted a day old demi baguette (basically half of a full baguette) that was whole wheat AND only $1.39. Score. But I knew I would have to use it soon since it was fresh and already a day old.

So that night I made it into pizza! I pulled homemade tomato sauce from the freezer, sliced up some onion and added deli ham. Something about the ham and onion makes a great tasting pizza. Not as good as bacon and olive but still…. :)

This is a great weeknight meal. Super fast, easy and filling. Especially with whole wheat bread. Yum! I had mine with a side salad and it was a perfect meal. Also great heated up (or not) for lunch the next day.

French Bread Pizza 

Ingredients: 

Whole wheat baguette, sliced in half longways

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 cup tomato sauce (homemade or jarred)

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 cup onion, sliced super fine

5-6 slices deli ham

1/4 cup mozzerella cheese

Directions: 

1. Rub the bread in a bit of olive oil.

2. Top each half of bread with tomato sauce and oregano.

3. Arrange pizza toppings. Feel free to use any thing you want here! Make your own pizza!

4. Top with cheese. Bake at 400 degrees until the cheese is melted. About 15 minutes
